Maple Sausage Stuffed Waffles

Breakfast for dinner? Yup! My kids were so happy to unwrap tonight’s meal. I didn’t have much time to plan for dinner, so I threw it in the waffle maker and viola!  The extras made up for an easy breakfast.

Ingredients: make 4 waffles

  • Maple sausage links
  • 2 cups Bisquick mix
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Maple syrup for the topping

First, cook the sausage and drain the fat with paper towels

I used Farmer Johns maple breakfast sausage

Next, make your favorite Belgium waffle recipe. I use the one on the Bisquick box. It’s fool proof.

Warm up the waffle iron and spray it with non stick spray.  Pour a scoop of batter on the waffle iron, then place  a sausage on the batter,  top the sausage with more batter.

Close the waffle lid  and stand by. It only  takes a few minutes to cook. You may need to press it a little to squish the sausage.

It’s done. If some oozes out and is raw, cut it off and toss it. No one will ever know 😉.

Finished product and my kids want more.
